popular bachelorette party themes
Charleston, South Carolina is one of the most popular bachelorette party destinations in the country. We love getting orders for Isle of Palms beach house bachelorette parties and downtown Charleston festivities — they are common year-round and always a fun addition to wedding celebrations!
Some of the popular themes we’ve seen lately (and the balloons to accompany them):
Barbie Bachelorette (Barbilorette?!)
This was actually the theme of my own bachelorette party (approximately one million years ago) so I have a particular fondness for Barbie theme parties! Shades of pink are always fun — as well as bright and colorful contrast to the beach.
BEACH CLUB
Fitting for beach house destinations, a custom branded “Beach Club” setting is so cute for bachelorettes on Isle of Palms or Sullivans Island. It’s hard to beat beachy neutrals like white, ivory, sand, and pearl — so classic, so timeless, so perfect.
BIKINIS AND MARTINIS
Another cute beachy theme is “Bikinis and Martinis” — I love pink and green together, especially this gorgeous apple (or olive!) green hue. Staircases and entryways are great places to install a balloon garland. Demonstrated in this picture of the Isle of Palms beach house this group rented, I tend to recommend placing your bachelorette party balloons somewhere that can serve as a photo backdrop to utilize all weekend long!
LAST TOAST ON THE COAST
If you’re “feeling nauti” or love a more traditional coastal theme, navy and white are classics for a balloon garland and look particularly striking with these gold diamond engagement ring foil accent balloons. Again, this was perfection in this Isle of Palms beach rental.
COASTAL COWGIRL / DOLLY PARTON
Coastal Cowgirl is a fun riff on a classic Western theme, and all hail Queen Dolly. Maybe it’s the Tennessee girl in me, but I’m a sucker for rhinestone cowgirl boots, denim and fringe. Once again, pink is an easy go-to — and these pink pony balloons are THE CUTEST. For this Dolly Parton party, the guest of honor loved to say “YAY-HAW” instead of “Yeehaw” so we created custom vinyl to tie in that fun little detail.
Some FAQs for you…
Where is the best place to host a Charleston bachelorette party?
The most popular destinations I see bachelorette party groups stay in are airbnbs and VRBOs in downtown Charleston or Isle of Palms. We have plenty of great hotels in the area as well, but there is something so convenient about having a full kitchen and the privacy of an entire home or rental unit. There are many gorgeous beach houses available on Isle of Palms, as well as rentals throughout Wild Dunes Resort.
What should we plan to do on our Charleston bachelorette weekend?
Charleston is a popular tourist destination for SO many reasons — there is always something to do around town! Major highlights include shopping on King Street, hitting IOP / Sullivans Island / Folly beaches, taking a private barre class at Barre South, going for a sunset cruise, and eating your way around the city. I recommend Carmella’s downtown for delicious dessert, coffee, and cocktails! You really can’t go wrong no matter what you have planned.
What are the best bachelorette party decorations for a beach house?
I am obviously partial, but I think a big statement balloon garland is the best way to maximize impact in your bachelorette party decorations — these are so cute over a doorway, by the stairs, on a mantle, or somewhere that serves as a central place to pose for photos throughout the weekend. Our most popular option is the 10ft latex tricolor garland — it is $272.50 after tax, delivery, and installation onsite in Mount Pleasant, downtown Charleston, Isle of Palms, or Sullivans Island (delivery charges may apply over 15 miles outside 29466).
